Dorothy Marie

I can't believe my baby turned 5. We had such a great few days to celebrate her birthday. This will be part 1 or 2 or 3 or more. She is my baby after all. Marie came into this world 2 hours and 40 minutes late according to me! I always wanted a Halloween baby, so this year her b-day fell on Monday, so the weekend before was Halloween! We had a costume party at our house and had a great time with a few little friends who came. I had asked a friend I work with to do the cake for the party! As you can see from the picture, it was awesome! Down to the glitter on the fairy witch's wings! Carmen is amazing and the cake was the centerpiece of the weekend for days! It was a packed few days as Halloween is for most!

Thursday was trunk-or-treat!
Friday Marie got to dress up for the costume parade at school!
Saturday was her birthday costume party!
Sunday was official trick-or-treating which she didn't miss out on!

Happy Halloween

I'm playing catch-up, so here's the Halloween post just a little late!  My parents were in town for Halloween.  They love it in AZ.  Little kids actually get to wear there costumes and have them seen.  Halloween seems to be the new Christmas.  I can't believe how fast my October calendar got filled!  Since my parents were in town I got to go to the class parties without Rie in tow.  Grandma went with me to Emily's party in the morning.  She even did Halloween poems with the kids on the "magic carpet".  We sang and danced and were silly and they LOVED it!  They decorated cookies and had a great time!  Then we went home for lunch and then Grandpa and I went over to Hannah's party in the afternoon.  We helped with the pumpkin paper lantern station.  I was told I was the most embarrassing mom!  Great, at least the kindergarten kids thought I was funny, 3rd graders are already too old and think you're embarrassing if you do anything crazy and fun.  Before trick-or-treating that night we went to the school for a hot dog dinner.  It was nice not to have to cook and we met up with our friends the Algers to go hit the streets.  Rie made it about half as far as the other kids and then she was ready to go home.  I think the other girls could have gone all night in quest of as much candy as they could get!  We went to a party at the Masitis's that night to enjoy the coolest cake ever made by Amy.  Melissa big on it from an auction for Nie Nie!  Hannah and Brent stayed home to watch Haunted Mansion out on the lawn at our neighbors house!  Halloween really is fun in AZ!
I think Hannah and Emi were the last to fall asleep that night or the next morning, not quite sure when they finally did!  Here are some pictures of the evening.  Hannah and Emily were witches although Hannah didn't want to wear a witch hat, so of course then Emi didn't want to wear one
(a friend commented that Emily's costume might have been more appropriate for the red light district, some mom I am, next year she'll wear the hat.)  Rie was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, it was a repeat of last year, just had to find new magical ruby slippers since her feet have grown two sizes since last year!  It was a fun night, but I was glad when it was over.  Then I had to get myself ready for a 3 year old party the next day!  That post is coming next! This is going to be long, lots of pictures I don't want to forget!

You've been boo-ed

Okay, so my sister boo-ed me (thanks Liz) and now I boo all my two followers, you know who you are! If you are one of the two stick this photo on your blog in the side bar and then people will know you were booo-ed. And since it's the day before halloween you can boo others in their comments or just boo like I did! I'm a lazy booer! Whenever I think of being booed I think of Princess Bride when the witch starts yelling boo, boo, ... either you'll know what I'm talking about or you'll think I'm weird or both! When did this whole booing thing begin?
